Our Sustainability Mission: Eliminating Plastic By 2024

Here at PACK'D, we are on a mission to completely eliminate plastic from our products and packaging by 2024.

We're excited to share our progress with you and provide some simple steps to help you reduce plastic waste in your own life. Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and we hope to inspire others to make more eco-conscious choices too.

Replacing Plastic with Paper

One of our most significant milestones on this journey is the replacement of plastic packaging with certified paper alternatives.

These new paper packages can be conveniently recycled at home by placing them in your recycling bin. We've taken a significant step towards a plastic-free future with the following initiatives:

  1. Recycle at Home Paper Bags for Organic Vegetables: In a UK first, we introduced paper bags for our frozen organic vegetables. Now, you can enjoy your favourite organic produce without contributing to plastic waste.
  2. Organic Fruit in Paper Packaging: Starting from November 6th, our organic fruit will also be available in consumer-friendly paper packaging. Keep an eye out for this eco-friendly alternative in your upcoming deliveries.
  3. Eliminating Non-Reusable Denim Liner Insulation: We've removed the use of non-reusable denim liner insulation from our deliveries. This change has made our delivery packages nearly 100% plastic-free and fully recyclable at home.

So far, we've successfully removed more than 13.6 tons of plastic from our supply chain, and we're committed to doing even more. Stay tuned for further exciting developments in our plastic-free journey.

Simple Steps to Reduce Plastic Waste

Reducing plastic waste isn't just our mission; it can be a shared goal for everyone. Here are some simple, actionable steps you can take to live a more sustainable lifestyle:

  1. Bring Your Reusable Bags: Say goodbye to single-use plastic bags by always carrying a reusable tote bag when you're out and about. Reusable bags are not only eco-friendly but also stylish and convenient.
  2. Conscious Shopping: Make an effort to practise conscious shopping. Opt for products with recyclable or minimal packaging, and consider shopping at zero-waste shops or refill stations to reduce single-use plastic consumption.
  3. Recycling Matters: Commit to recycling regularly. By reusing and recycling items, we can collectively reduce the demand for new plastic production. Every piece of plastic that gets a second life in recycling contributes to a healthier planet.
  4. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle): Invest in a reusable water bottle and take it with you wherever you go. This small change can significantly reduce your reliance on single-use plastic water bottles.

Join us on our journey towards a plastic-free future. Every small action you take to reduce plastic waste counts, and together we can make a big difference.

Together, we can help protect the environment and create a more sustainable world for future generations. Thank you for your support, and watch this space for more updates on our mission to eliminate plastic by 2024.
